And yes, I think John would have gotten her a retriever or a labrador, though not a small frippery dog. A sturdy animal, with a friendly face. Although, Aeryn may have felt more of a raport with the guard dog, in the face of its training and purpose, its discipline. I hope I didn't overdo the comparison between the dog and Aeryn. I began to wonder if I'd repeated 'black' and 'glossy' too much!
