Serenity Serenity Serenity - IS AMAZING!

And it was good! Oooohhhhhhhhhh sooooooo gooooooddddd!!!!!!
And no spoilers here I promise ;)
I have just been to the Birmingham (England) screening of Serenity, the film of Firefly. Firefly of the sadly shortened liferatbastardly cancellation. No wait. Make that a straight forward "ratbastardly cancellation".
The screening was one of 4 across the UK, after the World Premiere in Edinborough a couple of days ago. Adam found out about it and rang me a couple of weeks ago, and yay, because that meant we could shelve possible plans to fly to Scotland. It was Adam, me and Adam's brother and the bro's girlfriend (and those two have not seen any Firefly).
The film is beyond awesome. I was on my seat edge, hand clamped on mouth, biting hand, clenching fist in jacket, gasping, muttering inanely, and it was so good. This was a roller coaster ride of action and things blowing up, and every emotion under the sun. These are good characters, who you care about, and as far as I know the two Firefly virgins thought it was great as well. Everyone should go see this film. If you even just liked Firefly, go see it. If you like sci fi, go see it. If you like action, humour and touches of sweetness, if you like being freaked and biting your fingernails. JUST. GO. Everything about it was shiny. It felt paced well nigh to perfection, things happened and then you realised, oh my! More things are going to happen!!!!! That coaster kept on rollin', rollin', rollin and and and. I WANT this to succeed. It deserves it.
( Oh, and? Ahem. Nathan Fillion and Morena were there. )
Right, back to the film. Go see this movie. If you've hopped onto my journal for no particular reason, you don't know me, the surf just washed you over, if you get nothing else from seeing my lj, go see this film. Half my flist have FF icons. Guess I don't REALLY need to try and persuade you guys ;)
