Advice from UK flist needed

I MAY be going to GMEX for Collectormania.

I'd been talking about it with a girl at work who adores most of the current genre shows (and is a Farscape fan ;) and she's offered to drive! I didn't really want to stay over up in Manchester, couldn't face the drive by myself so so when (Dans, was it?) put out a call to see who was going I didn't put my hand up. Figured I'd seen Joe Flanigan and Craigy Craig before so didn't NEED to go.

But C is all enthused, and has never been to an event before so this really could happen!

Bit of advice needed: do you think we should pre-book the entry tickets and the photo op tickets on the website? Or buy on the day? Are Early Bird tickets worth it? We'd never get up there for 9am (when Early Bird starts) but could conceivably get there before the 11am standard start. I wonderd if one reason for getting an Early Bird is to make sure you can get a photo op ticket, but if you Pre-book them maybe you don't need to.....

Any thoughts, lovely flist? I can't remember what we did the one time I went to Excel in London, with y'all. And is anyone going whom I might trip over at some point in the day?? Meg? Craigy Craig??

me and sarah (elfqueen89) will be going, we are staying in a hotel there,

in answer to your questions i've ordered my tickets and photo op tickets on the site, (oh and the chane to go to vancouver woohoo) prices for photo ops are slightly cheaper on the site than at the event,

the last time i went to gmex someof us had ordered early bird tickets due to some of the guests being there, ive ordered early bird tickets just to be on the safe side

Hey Lisa :) Thanks for the info :) Me and my work mate C, have decided to go for it. I've booked Early Birds for Saturday and 2 lots of Photo ops. Of course, I've already got photos with Joe Flannigan and Craig Parker from other events, but I've got to keep C company, haven't I?? heh.

We're coming up from the West Midlands (and going back the same day)and haven't really figured out what time we'll be there :) I'll keep an eye out for y'all and my other flisters just in case :)

I'm well and I feel like I haven't spoken to anyone lately!! I've been a bit less active recently on the net, some days not even logging on. I think I might be coming down with somthing, lol. Ayways, take care and maybe catch up with you at some point :)

Dude, I sooooooooooo want to go because of Craigy Craig, if only for old times' sake! But I didn't know if anyone else bothered was going, plus isn't Miranda Otto going to be there, so isn't that another siggy for the montage? Man, sorry about late replyage - net access at home still woobly.

Ooh, also, I found Craigy Craig's twin brother on TV, if his twin brother was a comedian from T'Nooorth. LOL. Was vaguely amusing to me at least...

Ah, I did wonder whether folks were going or not. And ooh, so tempted to say we'd meet you for dinner. I think on balance, though, I probably shouldn't commit to anything. We'll be starting really early from this end, (I think it's a 1 1/2 hour drive) and I don't know whether we'll be knackered by the end of the day! And then still needing to drive home, I don't THINK we'd want to leave too late.

But, I hope you guys have a good time, anyways! Are you going on the Sunday or giving it a miss?

Well, my self and work mate are going and have the tickets to prove it!! We ended up getting early bird tickets even though I've no idea if we can get up there for 9am (probably not!). But def hoping to get there way before 11am.

Even though I have photos and autos of both Craigy and Joe Flanigan, I'm doing it all over again, purely to give C moral support ;). Well, that's my story anyway, heh. When she wondered if you had to talk to the actors I said you didn't have to, and sometimes you were encouraged to move along quickish anyway - and that I tended to be mute! Then I told her how you ended up discussing David Bowie albums with Craig whilst he signed, lol.

If you are going to go, let me know and we should be able to meet up somehow or other. I've never been to the GMEX before, but you could hit me up on my mobile and we'd track each other down.

Hey, so who was the lookalike then??

Also, hmm, just reread your comment and you said about dodgy net access. I may have to txt you just in case you don't see this.

Heya. Well you know I replied to your text(s). Am def thinking about going. Joe Flanigan in the flesh. I think I might die (although at least happy as he is lovely to look at). LOL.

Oh, and lookey-likey is a comedian called Lee Mack. He was (is?) in a series on BBC One on Fridays called "Not Going Out". The humour's a bit surreal, but I liked it. Plus Lee Mack being Craigy Craig's Northern Twin gave me an extra reason to watch *g*

Okkkkk, mega feeling of time warp here. Hun, you do know that this event has already come and gone, right?? If you see my latest post (from a couple of weeks ago), you'll see the various amount of fangirling that went on! It happened the week that I posted the message you just replied to, and I actually half expected to see you there. Did you think I was talking about a different date?

At any rate I should think I'll be going to C11 (is it 11??) at MK in 2007, and I'm going to the Atlantis con in early Feb at the Thistle with C (They have DrMcKay (David Hewlett) as a guest and we're hoping for more cute Atlantis guys (won't lie...Joe F. would be perfect!). The Thistle...ahhhh the memories...lol.
